Karim Walks Factory Floors to Address Labour Shortage

Minister of Tertiary Education and Skills Training, Minister Karim has now deemed it necessary to “walk the factory floors” to gain a more holistic insight into the programmes required by manufacturers and to gain first-hand knowledge of the “current labour shortages.” He toured the factory floors of Blue Waters Products Limited and Advance Foam Limited, Orange Grove Estate, Tacarigua on Friday 10th April, 2015.

635 TechnoKids For The Talent Revolution

On Saturday April 11th 2015, Senator the Honourable Fazal Karim, Minister of Tertiary Education and Skills Training recognized the efforts of 635 children who participated in the TechnoKids programme, an MTEST led project which targets children between the ages of six and nine throughout Trinidad and Tobago, exposing them to computer technology skills beyond basic computer literacy.

COSTAATT nursing students to benefit from clinical internships

After fifteen years in the making, a formal partnership was finally established between the College of Science, Technology and the Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago (COSTAATT), an agency of the Ministry of Tertiary Education and Skills Training (MTEST), and the Ministry of Health. The Memorandum of Understanding outlines a model where nursing and allied health students of COSTAATT can officially get clinical experience at various public health care facilities in Trinidad and Tobago under the Ministry of Health.
