Be Extra Vigilant During Vacation Period

As the July-August vacation period begins, parents and guardians are being urged to be extra vigilant with their wards. Commenting on the passing of three (3) children this week, Minister of Education the Honourable Anthony Garcia stated “The tragic loss of three lives that had not yet fully begun reaffirms the need for all of us to ensure that wherever and however possible we commit to being vigilant with our children to avoid incidents. To the parents and families of each of the tragedies experienced this week I wish to offer my sincerest condolences to all of you.”

The Ministry of Education also takes the opportunity to remind parents that during this time remember to keep children hydrated while they are outdoors, as temperatures have been increasing in recent weeks. A balance of mental stimulation along with physical activity is also needed during this time away from school. Reading can be an impactful addition to the vacation break and keep students' minds agile.
