Adult Education

The Adult Education Unit offers a second chance for education free of tuition fees at its 46 Lifelong Learning Centres across the country.

The Unit offers 30 NEC Level 1 courses (e.g., Garment Construction, Food Preparation, Tailoring, Plumbing, Electrical Installation, etc.); CXC Mathematics and English; CXC Preparatory; Literacy; Primary School Leaving Certificate.  All courses begin in September of each year and end the following June.

Registration is in September of each year, and a fee of 50 cents is payable at any Revenue Office.

All courses are offered on afternoons (evening classes) and may be pursued for certification (i.e., National Examinations Council Level 1; CXC O’ Levels and Primary School Leaving Certificate), or for pleasure.
