The scholarships in the ten (10) cognate groups are awarded solely based on academic performance.\n\n\nFor academic year 2021/2022\, the Government of Trinidad and Tobago (GoRTT) awarded 100 scholarships – 32 Open and 68 Additional. DESCRIPTION:The eleven primary and secondary school student (11) winners in the 60th Independence Anniversary Essay Awards Competition were recognised in a ceremony held at the Ministry of Education\, Education Towers on Friday 3rd March\, 2023. Minister in the Ministry of Education\, the Hon. Lisa Morris-Julian delivered remarks at the event\, where she praised the awardees for their literary achievements.\n\n\nDelivering the feature address was the Hon. Camille Robinson-Regis\, Minister of Housing and Urban Development and Chair of the National Committee for 60th Anniversary Celebrations. The Hon Minister congratulated the awardees and urged them to continue honing their writing skills to produce bodies of literature about their country that would be acclaimed worldwide.\n\n\nThe parents of the students\, their teachers and principals\, also attended the ceremony.
