Christmas Message of Thanksgiving

As Trinidad and Tobago prepares to celebrate Christmas on Monday 25th December, 2017 Minister of Education Anthony Garcia extends sincerest greetings for the season of a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. As the vacation period from school continues the Minister urges students to ensure to maximise their downtime. Keep active, play, enjoy friends and family and in whatever way possible, try to be of service. Children can never start too early learning the importance of benevelence, and it is hoped that during this time and all through the year parents take the time to teach students the importance of giving and helping those who may be less fortunate in any small way.

We have made it through another year, both calendar and academic and we have started a new one. For the work that has gone into making this year a success thank you must be said to all stakeholders in education. Each of you, from parents, teachers, principals, caterers, bus drivers, interest groups, Minister of State in the Ministry of Education, Dr Lovell Francis, technocrats and the like, have all in no small way contributed to the educational  development of our nation’s youth and for that we say thank you.

May the new year bring with it renewed purpose and positive change where it is needed. The Ministry of Education will continue to do its part to deliver an education that is of good quality, accessible and equitable for all. As you all enjoy the break from school the Ministry continues to prepare your schools, examinations, curriculum and all the behind the scenes work that makes for a successful school year. We look forward to a successful 2018 and wish you all again from the Ministry of Education a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
